I had to work with it for a while before getting it to work. I was ready to send it back, till i read another review saying it doesn't turn on until it is plugged into something. Also, I couldn't tell what type of battery it uses when I purchased it. I thought for some reason it was 9volt, I think I read that somewhere. But the one I got uses AA batteries, although for some reason some brands of batteries won't work and others will. Don't know why.

Overall, I am happy with it. It recieves a signal from a bit further than I thought it would, but it just started making a lot of hissing sound when the reciever is plugged in and the mic is turned off. Didn't do that when I first got it.

Reviews seem to be split down the middle on this item. From what I can tell, the people who liked this mic were those who know how to equalize. Those who don't like it should learn how and it'll make their lives easier. Microphones need to be equalized or at least run through a pre-amp to get a good sounds out of them, and this is no exception. With no pre-amp and just a little bit of equalizing this thing sounds absolutely beautiful. It picks up the highest highs and the lowest lows and accurately reproduces them. As an active performing musician I can say with confidence that this headset mic meets all of my needs. Whether I'm rocking out on the drums or playing a piano ballad, I always have the mic just where I need it. Don't hesitate to buy it!

I've worn this headset for 6 years to teach aerobics classes. It gets sweaty, bounced around and spit on but keeps on working. I teach in many different facilities and the sound quality is completely dependent upon the sound system - the microphone itself delivers high quality sound if used with a quality sound system.



One recommendation if you use it for teaching aerobics - spray Scotchguard on the windscreen (foam ball over the microphone). My first headset went eventually developed some problems due to corrosion from the sweat and spit. I Scotchguarded the windscreen on the next one I bought and have had no problems with it.

We used this mic to pick up very low dB sounds in therapy rooms. This thing can pick up the slightest whisper from all the way across the room, it's that sensitive -- really amazing. And we have the mics hanging from the ceiling so they aren't anywhere near the source.

great product. I don't find anything flat about it's response but I love it's clarity and what I can do with what it picks up! Perfect mic for the $. who knows, maybe it really sounds like that 10' up!



Using as blend for live recording, I pick up the house sound with this mic and lay the soundboard signal on top of it; with the right eq on this mic it makes for a great rich, clear mix. Without the eq it sounds like it's in a tube.
