 "great recording addition" 2010-02-07
By Paul D. King (Canon City CO)
The microphone has a great quality for recording music and of course the ipod storage capacity is so huge that it will store a whole 3 day bluegrass festival event. Wish there was a way to charge the battery while recording. Great product.

 "Not so good" 2010-02-06
By Terry A. Schneider (Tallahassee, Florida)
I've returned this mic. I have a Blue Snowball, which I really like, but the Mikey just fell out of my iPhone which makes it virtually unusable. This shouldn't be so hard to fix. Even when attached, the connectivity was poor.

"Hearing myself in a whole different light!!" 2010-02-06
By Kym M. Clarke (Washington, DC USA)
I really don't have much to say, it's easy to operate, it's very easy to figure out (even without using the manual)and the reproduction of sound is outstanding!

And to think, I was just about to invest in one of those really expensive handheld recorders.

This iPod recorder skips quite a bit and overall I am not satisfied with the quality.

 "Exception Studio Quality Microphone" 2010-02-03
By J. Larson (Michigan)
I can't say enough good things about this microphone. I felt like I was taking a serious risk or chance in getting it and that I might be big-time disappointed. I wasn't at all. If you're looking for a microphone with a studio quality frequency response for the ipod Touch, then look no further. There simply isn't a microphone available at this point that will capture sound any more clear than the Mikey.

For the record, I'm a studio professional. It should be noted that I tested this microphone in an acoustically treated room (sound treated with Auralex foam)and that I've got a pretty good set of ears for a clean sound. I have to say that I'm thoroughly shocked and impressed with what the Mikey can capture. The quality is astounding compared against my expectations. For other audio professionals in the know, I have to say that it easily beats out an AT2020 and gives an AT4033 a fair run for it's money, as well.

I tried simple voice tests on it and noticed that the response in terms of frequency is tuned real nice. Normally because of my deep voice, I always end up with some proximity-like issues in a final vocal recording. Not with the Mikey. The response is very smooth. A warm low end without bassing me to death and a very clean high end without the spit or unnecessary air.

I definitely recommend this microphone for anyone looking to turn their ipod touch into a mobile recording device for demos while on the road, pod-casters, interviewers, and for live recording (although I've yet to test it in that department).
